PPPO’s SC Rep

Dr Sophie Peterson (Soph) is the Pacific Engagement Manager for Plant Biosecurity and Director for Pacific Engagement and International Plant Health within the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF), the Australian national plant protection organization (NPPO). Sophie is one of the South-West Pacific members to the International Plant Protection Convention’s (IPPC) Standards Committee (SC) and the current Chair of this forum. She is also the vice chair of the IPPC’s Focus Group for the safe provision of food and other humanitarian aid.

Joanne Wilson (Jo) is a Principal Adviser in the Animal and Plant Health Directorate of the Ministry for Primary Industries, the national plant protection organization (NPPO) of New Zealand. Jo is one of the South-West Pacific members of the International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC) Standards Committee (SC). Currently, she is an assistant steward for the IPPC Technical Panel on Commodity Standards and the steward for the Annex to ISPM 46 International movement of fresh Mango (Mangifera indica) fruit. She is also the steward for the revision of ISPM 26 Establishment of pest free areas for fruit flies and the assistant steward for the reorganization of pest risk analysis standards.
