Gibson Susumu

Programme Leader, Sustainable Agriculture

Gibson Susumu, originally from the Federated States of Micronesia, is Head of the Sustainable Agriculture thematic work area. Prior to his current role, Gibson was the Food Security Officer for LRD and was involved in the development of a climate change and food security framework that has supported the development of programmes currently being implemented within LRD, such as Pacific Seeds for Life.

Gibson’s earlier experience is in the Education sector, serving as an Agriculture Instructor in FSM for close to eight years. After his teaching career, Gibson became the FSM Agriculture and Forestry Programme Manager and coordinated the development of the first FSM Agriculture Policy, as well as a Forest Action Plan for the nation. Gibson holds a Masters of Science in Agriculture from the National Pingtung University of Science and Technology, Taiwan.
