Dr. Ramona Stephanie O’Connor Sulifoa

Research for Development Adviser

Dr. Ramona Stephanie O’Connor Sulifoa currently works as the Research for Development Adviser. She is responsible for developing, managing, and implementing research for development strategies and systems for the Land Resources Division. Her development and research experience includes work in various national and regional Pacific institutions. She was previously Sector Coordinator for the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, Samoa. She also worked in the development field in the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the New Zealand Aid Programme, the United Nations Development Programme in the Solomon Islands and Samoa, and the University of the South Pacific.

Ramona was also a Senior Lecturer in Agriculture Economics and Agribusiness at the Solomon Islands National University Faculty of Agriculture Forestry and Fisheries and coordinated and led faculty research while additionally serving as Associate Dean. She attained her Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Agriculture from the University of the South Pacific and under a Fulbright scholarship attained her PhD from the University of Hawaii at Manoa in the area of Natural Resources and Environmental Management.
