Healthy Ecosystems

Balancing the need to sustain healthy ecosystems in Pacific communities while securing human rights, gender equality and social inclusion (GESI) is the main focus of the Healthy Ecosystems programme.

Aligned with One-Health approaches and linked to the UN Decade on Ecosystems Restoration 2021 – 2030, the programme assists Pacific governments and institutions in applying a human rights and GESI lens when developing policies and frameworks that govern ecosystems at the national and regional level. It serves as  a meeting ground for civil society organisations, trade unions, private sector and research communities for an integrated landscape management approach that enables Pacific people of all diversities to gain knowledge and be empowered equally.
