The project aims to increase producers’ income and improve the supply and reliability of fruit supply by supporting the development of the tropical fruits sector. The expected outcomes are: wider genetic base (greater diversity) in tropical fruits; training and development in production technology; improved information access; improved awareness as to the nutritional value of tropical fruits; identified market constraints. All of these outcomes will contribute to strengthening of local food production systems, both for fruit and should also have a wider impact on other food crops.
